Throughout my first semester of college, my outlook on life has evolved greatly. I have experienced stressful days and sleepless nights. I learned that time management was the true key to success, and I also discovered that studying just one day before an exam was no longer doable. College has showed me who I really am: someone who did not accept . Coming into college I thought that I would be comfortable with a slightly above average GPA and ruled out any aspriations of potentially pursuing entrance into the Schreyer Honors College. Little did I know, a 3.5 and and a less challenging course load would not cut it. My first semester was hard, but anything less than an A- was not an option. After the first couple weeks, I realized how I valued myself. I wanted to be the girl who's work ethic was unscathed, who never gave up, and earned the best grades she could. Respect is something I desire from my peers, my teachers, my friends, and most of all, my family. I have grown more responsible not only as a person, but as a student in my first year at Penn State.
